Mt St Helens

Mt St Helens. Recent volcanic acativity, a whole mountaintop blown open. Of course, that's what you get to see, if the weather's clear. But it wasn't. The pacific northwest was in full swing, with it's traditional wet grey weather.

I'm sure it would have been nice. The movie in the visitor center finishes and then curtains lift behind the screen and you can normally see straight up into the crater. Of course, all we could see was white banks of cloud streaming past the windows. They had obsidian and pumice in their displays that came from Glass Mountain.

Washington State!

This was while I was there. Apparently a lighting storm

This is what it the view was like

This is as good as the view got

Still plenty of destruction
