A summer house at Laugarvatn

Pictures are at the bottom...

Karl has a posse. And they speak german. But never fear! Karl has homebrew!

Guido booked the IBRI summer house out by Laugarvatn, and we headed out for a weekend out of town. Guido, Jessica, Ute, Sanda and Wolfgang. And me. We had sort of planned on a slightly bigger event, but a bit of uncertainty over a firm booking for the summer house, so it didn't quite work out.

Headed out on snowy roads (Alda asked for snow, I provided) in the afternoon, crawling through severe weather conditions on Hellisheiði. Only really added 20min to the travel time though.

Set up the homebrew out in the snow to get cold, got the kangaroo, lamb and chicken in the sink to defrost, and kicked back. Food, more food, a few more rounds of food, and some (overly?) detailed discussions about the technical details of Lord of the Rings, paired nicely with who saw which stars wars movie when, and which version. (I lost, I'm too young to have seen them the first time)

After retiring to the couch, we proceeded to devour the homebrew, the licorice, the chocolates and the chips. Who am I to ridicule the chocolate and beer combo again?

A glorious glorious sleep in, leisurel breakfast, nudossi vs nutella, east vs west, vegemite vs caviar, gouda sneiðar vs brauðostur, then home time.

Wolfgang and I came back via Nesjavellir, the geothermal powerplant, and the backroads around the south shore of Þingvellirvatn. Continuing the 2007 trend with a wonderfully relaxing weekend.
