Western Plains to the Coast - Narrabri to Lennox Heads

Pictures are at the bottom...

19 March, 2012

Leaving Narrabri, we had a long drive ahead, through the backroads towards the coast, well and truly off the beaten track. We drove from Narrabri through Bingara, Inverell, Glenn Innes and over the range to Grafton. We stopped at Op-Shops all over the place, with Kata learning her now trademark, "VINNIEEESSSSS!!!!" cry, cruised past the wide brown land, stopped off briefly in the rainforest of Gibraltar Range NP, and admired the storm fronts and swirling rain as we hit the coast again.

We (I) visited bakeries, finally finding some hot cross buns, before we eventually pulled into Lennox Heads, a place I knew well from university, visiting Toby. The storm passed over us during the evening, and we got to spend some of the late night on the beach playing with the crabs.

In the morning we both had a refreshing swim in Lake Ainsworth before heading up to Byron.
